Please refer to the list of items for which we are
currently in need.
-- Gently used Spring and Summer clothing and shoes for all
ages: Babies, ....Children,
Men and Women
-- Toys
(preferably NOT battery operated)
-- Adult diapers
-- Undergarments
-- Personal
grooming items (bar soap, shampoo, tooth paste, tooth brushes,
hair
....brushes,
hair ties, etc.)
-- Sheets,
Towels, etc.
All clothing
donations must be organized in plastic bags by the age and
gender for which the clothes are intended and then labeled as
such. For example, a bag of clothes for toddler girls should
read “Girl’s clothes age 2-4.” If you are donating shoes, they
must be tied together - this will make it so much easier for us
to distribute them correctly.
Donations of
personal supplies should be donated in boxes. We accept all
size containers and we will combine them for appropriate
delivery in Honduras.
We are also in
need of duffle bags (preferable large size like the
army ones) in which to pack the plastic clothing bags.
Special Toy
Bags: One year a friend of mine had a great idea for a
special toy bag for the kids. She used quart side baggies and
filled them with a few pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners,
crayons and a small toy for a girl or boy- a race car, cards,
jacks, doll, book, etc. These were a huge hit! We were able to
distribute these items easily and the kids played with them
right away. The kids LOVED these! It would be wonderful if we
could get a lot more toy baggies together for the upcoming
trip. Feel free to mix it up and add you own flare to this
idea.
If you prefer to
make a monetary donation it will be used to purchase
rice, beans and any supplies that we can buy in
Honduras. Because we have not set up a foundation to sponsor our
trips, donations are not tax deductible. We are working
(slowly) on setting up a foundation to make this possible in the
future.
We couldn’t do any of this without all of your support and
donations!!
Thank you,
The Honduras Gang
