A few years ago two employees of Continental Airlines (Newark, NJ) took a humanitarian relief trip to Honduras. The two employees gathered items from friends and family and flew to San Pedro Sula, Honduras (SAP) with their allotted two checked bags full of donated items. Once there, they went to nearby villages and held “parties” where they cooked food, had pinatas for the kids and distributed the toys and clothes they had brought to needy children and families.

Since the first trip to Honduras, the group of volunteers has grown to 10 and the amount of clothes, toys and necessities that they have been able to share has grown tremendou sly.  The 10 CAL EWR (Continental Airlines in Newark, NJ) employees and a few of their friends now travel to SAP two times per year.  They have worked with the local Red Cross of Honduras, the SAP Hospital, the local orphanage (for children who are HIV positive or have lost their parents to AIDS) and the local hospital for the disabled.

They continue to travel directly to the areas in need and hand out the items they have brought in person. The intensely rewarding nature of this project inspires people to participate through donations of money, clothing, toys, personal products, and time.  If you are inspired to assist with this worthy endeavor, please go to the Donate Now section of this site.

Thanks  :)
