My name is John Baer. I'm a photographer specializing in photojournalism, unit photography, construction, architecture, studio and environmental portrait  photography.

My career in photography began in 1989 as a photojournalist at The Times  newspaper  (Trenton, NJ). I have since worked for the Associated Press, The Trentonian newspaper (Trenton, NJ) and as a freelance news photographer for several newspapers and magazines.

In 1997 I began working as a unit photographer. My work on feature films and television shows has taken me to New York City, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Boston, Philadelphia and Honolulu.

After five years in the movie business I decided to take a break and I began working as the Executive Editor of the Oahu Island News newspaper in Honolulu, Hawaii. I worked at the newspaper until January 2004 when the newspaper changed ownership and I returned to the world of movie and freelance photography.

My freelance work has been very rewarding. I've had the opportunity to

pursue several personal projects, "Road Trip Across the USA" and "Cops & Dogs," a police K9 calendar.
I've also been able to continue my work in photojournalism, unit photography and construction photography.

All of my photography work is being done using digital technology -- digital is the way of the future and I've found it to be the most efficient and economical way to work as a photographer. Although, I haven't given up on film completely, I can still provide color transparencies when requested or needed for unique assignments.
